Windows Media Player (WMP) is a digital media player and library application developed by Microsoft, which is used for audio, video and the display of images on a computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system, as well as the Pocket PC and Windows Mobile-based devices. Publishing Windows Media Player were also released for Mac OS, Mac OS X and Solaris, but the development of these has since been abandoned.
